Unfortunately you can't buy them open market, yet. Was on kickstarter, but appears they're making more. I like this concept as it has a 'geofence' where you can physically walk the perimeter of the house and set a max flying height and the drone will not fly out of that fenced location, making liability concerns lessened quite a bit, and it's alot more compact that a DJI Phantom is, taking up less room in the vehicle as a tool, and at $495, the price point for what you're getting seems like good value.

Interesting.

I keep waiting to see if DJI releases the ability to set a flight path in their latest firmware updates, nothing yet that I know of. Although their latest big firmware release does have some more robust flight modes.

Probably one thing that should be pointed out is that this drone (at least for what I read) is a teathered with a "microfiber".

DJI has the new firmware and it does allow you to set way points so you only have to control the camera while it goes to each point.

Right but that is only for the Phantom3 series. We have the original 1 Phantom. None of those flight modes look like they would work. The point of interest merely circles the perimeter, no good. I suppose waypoint mode might work if the map gps points were small enough to map just the footprint of the house. What do you mean by tethered for the CyPhy? Its an autonomous drone, there is no cord on it if that is what you mean.

Damn. Someone beat me to it.

We'll see if they get to production before me. Good luck fella.
