I did an inspection today and I noticed a duct going into the chimney in the basement. I traced out the duct and found it is connected to a bathroom vent fan. There is a little negative slope to it. It is also above the water heater exhaust duct. This doesn't seem right. Thoughts?
Thanks Guys!
I'll post a picture in a little bit.

Incorrect for sure. IRC requires moisture ducts to terminate at the exterior separate and not be intermixed with other systems. Plus it adds moisture to the chimney to accelerate corrosion of the chimney.

For sure, I agree with Mike. Ducts require a passage for the termination of moisture. One thing you can do is consult a well experienced plumber who can help you in making the separate connection between the duct and bathroom vent. A friend of mine has hired drain cleaning service NJ team a few weeks ago for drain cleaning and for the proper connection of his bathroom vent fan. You can also look for such team who provides overall service. Hope my suggestion helps you out.
