HIP

Does anybody know if it is possible to to sync HIP from a Mac to an iPad without paying for the cloud service?

Dom is working on it, but he said the technology isn't here yet.

I'm not one to tell people how to do their job, especially outside of my area of expertise, but I have several apps that I can send documents through iTunes when I connect with my sync cable.

Isn't the .hzf the inspection report? I'm really trying to do a report format.

So what are you trying to do? Send the .pdf report to an iPad? I'm confused.

Never mind. I got a response from Dominic stating that iPad can't do direct syncs.

And with Nate's post I just learned what a Google Alert was.

The first time it happened to me it was weird. What made it worse was the report was absolute crap. I saved it to review it after the inspection. I want to call the guy and tell him that HIP can do so much more for him, although based on the report I saw, he probably isn't getting much business.

During PUC3 did anyone that attended the extra night session with Dominic? During his session he was talking about presetting other colors to comments. So instead of just black and red, you can also have a green or blue or whatever you decide to use. Does anyone know how to do this? I have been trying to figure this out and I don't seem to have that option on my Mac version. Maybe it is in the next version of HIP that he'll release.

Chad are you talking about recoloring items to appear as major/summary (red) vs just minor deficiences (black)? If so, you have to go to Report Settings ----> Formatting. From there click on either Normal Damage Font or Serious Damage Font. Select your font and color and save. Now those items will be whatever color you choose. You can also make individual items listed in the report different colors by selecting 'advanced colors'. So say you have a lead paint warning verbiage you want to always show orange just for that comment. Go to Report Settings -----> Formatting. From there click 'Advanced Color Options' and add whatever colors you want. Then go to your template and bring up the comment to edit. On the top right you will see a drop down with a square black color box in it. From that dropdown (with red arrow) you can change that particular comment to always display as orange, or whatever color you want. Let me know if you need any other help.

The advanced colors options is exactly what I was looking for! I didn't see a little black arrow for me to keep clicking on which eventually brought that up. Thanks for your help! I should be able to figure the rest out from there.
