Hi! So I found an interesting nest in an attic today. I have never seen a nest quite like it and was wondering what it might be. In essence, it looks like mud with straw. It's big enough to be a bird nest, but I saw no other evidence and no obvious bird traffic. Additionally, the nest was about 5 feet from an external wall. Any thoughts?

I heard from a a person from the Audubon Society that they believe it is a Barn Swallow nest. The Appearance and placement all make sense. Just thought I would pass this along.

Awe, now I have to look for that bats nest I found on the far end of an attic space. Of course, gable vent screening was improperly placed and not sealed.
