This happens at about every third or fourth inspection I do. When I break out the Extend and Climb ladder to go on the roof or inside to get in the Attic I have to stop and let the paparazzi (clients) take pictures of it. This ladder has started more conversations, sparked birthday and or Father's day gifts than I would have thought. The Krawlgear crawler I have for the Crawlspaces is definitely my favorite tool, but the ladder gets all the love.

Which model of the Xtend+Climb do you have? Any drawbacks to the telescoping ladders that you've run up against?

So you like that crawlspace krawler? I have looked it, but never was "sold". Can you show us some videos of it in action?

My biggest issue with it is down here we have so many people who remodel the bathroom and instead of hauling out the plaster and lathe debris, they just let it all fall into the crawlspace, so oftentimes there's a mountain of sharp jagged debris to carefully climb over in the crawlspace. I doubt the krawler can go over that effectively.

Seeing is believing. http://www.krawlgear.com/ Its that and more. Here In Northern California I would say 2 out 3 inspections are crawlspaces. I have done a few up in the gold country where the rocks are the size of Buicks and it works great.

I use the...
Xtend & Climb 785P Aluminum Telescoping Ladder Type I Professional Series, 15.5-Foot.
It's heavy; but I'm old and frail.
But I can carry it under my arm and walk thru the house, (if I don't want/can't go thru the gate,) or to that upstairs balcony.
Those clips don't readily unlock, to collapse, all the time. Cheap-looking plastic thumb-clips; hope the actual latching mechanisms are metal or otherwise more sturdy.
Can't extend as quickly as that guy did in 24 this past summer; to rescue Jack and Chloe.
Used it in the rain five days ago; moisture still inside the bottom tubes.

Thanks for the info Philo. How do you handle scuttle holes with nothing else around to prop the ladder against to open the hatch with this type of ladder (a 9' ceiling in a garage for instance).

I have to still lug around my previous workhorse 16' foldable ladder for only that purpose; and use the A-frame configuration.
