Moisture Meter

I'm working towards doing IAQ (mold) sampling and I'm trying to find a good moisture meter. The one I was wanting to buy isn't available anywhere that I've seen. What does everyone have? How much was it? where did you buy it? Would you recommend it? Why or why not?

This is the one I'm currently looking at. It's a little more than I want to spend, but I'd rather pay for better quality tools than having to keep replacing them.

Delmhorst BD-2100 is the industry workhorse. Do yourself a favor: buy the best tools you can and learn how to use them

I have the Extech MO297 and have been pleased with it. I think it was about $700. I got it because it pairs with my IR camera.

I use that Tramex on the bottom of your Amazon page. I bought it from Professional Equpt when they used to be at the trade shows. I think it was recommended by the instructor of a EIFS class I took. The PE guy said this was the "best seller." I had a Protimeter which cost me about $300 15 yrs ago. It lasted a long, long time. The instructor in a IR class I took confirmed it was a good instrument.

Protimeter SM and Mini

I use a Protimeter Surveymaster and it works well. The downside is sometimes they have a glitch where even in the "off" mode the battery drains. Simple solution is just to take the battery out when you're not using it.

Delmhorst BD-2100 and GE Protimeter are my choice! Best in the biz

Tramex Moisture Encounter

I recently purchased a Tramex MRH III. I've been pretty happy with it. I still use a mini Protimeter for crawlspaces.

I prefer the older Protimeters. They can get into some tight areas!
