Not really in my expertise outside of my personal involvement in development which is not vast- I've only done a few. Nobody gave me a procedure other than the vendors I pulled together like site engineers and attorneys to handle zoning and such. They seemed to know the ropes and when you think everything is going smoothly...then the neighbor comes in with some sort of an issue they want to talk about.

Sector experience really isn't the issue. If you're referring to straight up development from raw land...I've done that twice. Both times I winged it.

I think if you're looking to get a feel for what all it takes I would work for a developer for a couple years. If I were serious about it that's what I would do.
