Stairs

Hello All!
Quick question that I am having a hard time finding an answer to. At what width is a second handrail required? At today's inspection, the front porch stairs are about 6 foot apart. At one time there was a second handrail installed which was evident by the screw holes in the roof support.

For residential and per IRC the stairway with 4 or more risers shall be equipped with at least one handrail. No max width. In commercial it's 4-feet wide or more requires two.

No problem. Nothing prevents you from recommending a second handrail for increased safety as an upgrade. I do that a lot.
