Hi,
I am new to the forum. I would like to post a picture of a freezing door and wall and see if you can help me determine what might be happening here. I recently purchased a FLIR c2 and I am learning how to properly use it. Thanks.

My front entry door area is super cold. I am trying to figure out how to improve the situation. I have replaced the weather strip around the door, except for the bottom. What is with the super cold area above the door? The roof covering the outdoor steps is right behind that. The first picture is an outside view, all of the others are from the inside.
Thanks.

Adjust bottom threshold
Should be 3-4 screws in the threshold, behind plastic caps that can be adjusted. This will allow the door to seal better.
Add a quality Storm Door
1-2 hour DIY install if you follow all the directions. Only basic tools are needed.
Replace Door
Replace the entry door with a more energy efficient model and possible less glass. The more glass there is the easier it to lose heat.
The area above the porch seldom has insulation added to it. So right above where the entry door (the inside entryway | hallway) is located it possibly could be low on insulation.

Thank you for the suggestions. I would like to further understand a couple of things. It seems like the sides of the door improved with the new weather stripping. The bottom is still the same.
1. Do the pictures show that the sides improved?
2. Should I open the sheet rock above and see what the heck is going on? I thought it might be very cold right above the door from the header board. I did not think it would be warm right above and then cold a solid foot above or more. Thoughts?
3. Is this a pretty common and acceptable image for an outside door? Or should you see much less temperature difference? I don't really have a baseline. Thanks.

In my opinion, you've improved it enough. The ROI on digging into the wall above the header and re-insulating (or insulating in the first place, as it may not be there at all) is pretty low and possibly negative.
One alternative option would be to punch a small hole in the affected area and spray in expanding foam insulation. That's a $10 solution and wherever it lands...it lands.
