Home was inspected, I am the seller. My nephew found a tool vest/pouch thought it was mine and put it away. Realtor text and said inspector left tool vest and she was going to stop by and pick it up if it was ok. I was out of town and no one was there so I said ok. She hours later sent a text saying she could not find it. I said I would look for it when I got back in town. Told her the only person that had been in the house was my teenage nephew and I said I would ask him. She then told me the pouch had a gun in it, but said it just had rat-shot in it. Not being able to reach my nephew I rushed home, over 200 miles. I finally reached my nephew and he told me where the vest/pouch was. When I arrived at the house the vest was exactly where he said it was. I didn't tell the realtor I had reached my nephew and new where it was before I got there so I could see the gun for myself. The realtor gave access to the inspector to search my home without my permission.
The gun was loaded with the most viscous looking ammo I had ever seen, not ratshot. It looked like a drill bit on the end. I let the realtor know I had the vest and gun and she was frantic to get it back, became unprofessional. The inspector had also called the buyer to let him know the gun was missing and wanted to know if he knew where it was at. Well I am really really mad about this. I should have been notified immediately that there was a gun involved, not kept in the dark while they try to cover it up. I was wondering what other professionals think about what happened?
