Pricing for mold inspections

Getting ready to start doing mold inspections. What are the typical fees charged to clients for testing??

Single test- $75-$135
IAQ- $200-$400
Mold Evaluations- $150-$350

These are just typical ranges I see, my suggestion would be to call around in your area to the biggest competitors, find out their prices, and be at or below that.

You may not know this, but your asking a price for two different services. Testing is one thing, Inspection is another. Do you want testing prices or inspecting prices?

We charge $299 for testing and depends on size of residence for mold INSPECTIONS...depends on how many AC's, past problems? Size of the home...when we inspect for mold we go through the AC's, use thermal cameras and crawl the attics...

So its totally different and if your only doing TESTING...then please call it that. You may get in a world of hurt of you do mold INSPECTIONS, and really don't look for it and only take air samples.

Now what we do, is we often get radon tests with these homes. So we go in 2 days BEFORE the inspection and do the mold testing and set up the Radon, this way when we go back 2 days later, we have the mold results and if they are high, we try to put the reasoning together instead of after...

Does Inspector Lab do anything with allergy testing? I could see this as a huge add on with my clients in my area.

Also, do you guys do mold testing when there is no reason to do mold testing? Just so a client knows there are no mold issues?

I just got back our first test from Inspector lab and it did come back as allergenic present on a swab sample

I'm currently doing $265 for 3 samples, and $335 for 4 samples (larger home)

I wonder what All Points in SLC charges. Want to be a corporate spy for me Nathan?

What do you tell your client about "allergenic"? What does that mean?

I do not do it but I know there is a vacuum or something that gives allergen count. I'm not a mold guy (yet) and still have little knowledge on the subject matter. Radon on the other hand, we can talk radon all day!
