There are so many inspection software and everyone claims theirs is better

I use the inspect It- but it has been extensively modified for my use

I am also trying out Home Inspector Pro now but haven't really started using it

Horizon send me a link to try it but its pretty expensive.

I received free demos of 5 companies that I felt were on the top of the list.

I then narrowed it down to what I expected the software to do.
I narrowed again based on price.

Everyones needs are slightly different. the software needs to fit your needs.

I'm partial to the companies that have integrated with our stuff, not just for the selfish reasons that are obvious, but rather because it shows that they are responsive to inspectors' needs. Customizing your templates is one thing, rewriting code is quite another and even if you were capable they're locked down.

HIP, 3-D, Horizon... many more... are very serious about earning your business, and they all understand that they're not for everyone. There's a complete list of integrated partners on RecallChek.com, and I keep hearing HomeGauge will be joining us soon but I can't confirm that.

Attn: HomeGauge

I love my southern software and I couldn't dream of life without her. If you love me too, you will understand my need to keep our relationship fresh and exciting.
I subscribed to ISN for the articles but I am lusting for the pictures and I need to embrace you both. If we embrace, I will have more time to spend with you!

I use HIP Mobile

It is easy to setup however you want. It is easy to use. I produces a good looking report. It is easy to merge if you have multiple inspectors.

I am able to do my whole inspection from the roof to the crawlspace all on my phone. I take pics and caption them as I go. When I'm done I have about ten minutes of work left on my laptop to finalize the report.

Customer service is great as well.

I use HomeGauge. It works for me. I've toyed with the idea of moving to 3D. Since I started using ISN it's becoming harder and harder to pay $30/month just to use the "Send to Cloud" function. I may just manually transfer with a USB or something.

I use full version HIP on my Surface Pro 2. It's clear and concise and I usually finish on site. I like the Surface because I can play the RWS videos on it for clients to show the benefits they're getting. It also connects quick using my Hot Spot to send the reports out thru ISN afterwards. Been using HIP since 2008 (I think Dominic was 12 years old.) Have molded, tweaked, reworded, added, subtracted comments to continue to keep it fresh, up to date and aligned with the current standards. Templates are very easy to use and manipulate and HIP customer service is excellent.

CD's Horizon software got me going right away. I previewed a couple of others, but Horizon is so customizable and integrated with other businesses I just find it too easy.

Includes apps for realtors to book your time, photo upload, report writing from mobile, tablet, laptop or desktop, accounting, contracts, online scheduling and online payments, and partners / integrates with RecallChek, credit card payments and customer feedback surveys.

The real plus is that they keep adding stuff, staying in the lead - and even being fairly new in the business, when I call them to ask if the software can do something I haven't found, they show me or add it in. Not a single complaint from me!

HG offers HG Cloud Services. For the most part, it lets you transfer reports to and from computer to phone/camera/tablet easily, let's you backup your HG settings and templates to their cloud (no, you can't tell HG where to do this backup that I'm aware of), and let's you upload reports to the cloud so your client can go get them. I can do my own backups, so the only thing I'm using HG Cloud Services for is to transfer reports and templates over the air to and from PC/Android camera so I don't have to plug in a cable.
