Does anyone have any experience with the ASHI school for training. I'm getting ready to send a new employee there, and am looking for some feedback.

It appears to be one of the few onsite training programs around.

I've had great experiences with them. The ASHI School, as I see it, is a great way for ASHI to get some new blood...and it's working.

I think the ASHI school is great however, I not very impartial as I am the lead instructor at the Seattle ASHI School. I think the best part is we have real inspectors that are actively inspecting that are teaching. Rather then ones that are just teachers. Not that a retired inspector teaching would be a bad thing.

You could also send him to NIBI in Medford, NJ. We have an 80 hour course starting in July.

I've spent literally hours on the phone with the guys from the ASHI School, as well as Drew Levy with NIBI.

Private Message Drew Levy right here on this forum (just click his link above) and see what he can do for you. I like both of course.

I have been an ASHI member for 10+ years. I do like their training for new inspectors. That said, when I am starting a new hire, I have them sign up for the free 6 month membership with NACHI, and start their training videos (no cost) while doing on site training with the new hire. That way, if after a month or 2, and they are not going to work out, I have spent less money on them. We use them as an assistant during this phase, and as they complete a section, they email us over there test results.
Our state is licensed and does not use NACHI as an approved education material. But it is a way they can learn more while doing hands on training with us.
We have spent money on licensing and paid education for new people to early in the past, and this method is working out for us.
